CPO - Co-founder. neexo, Vejle.
Frank works with Unity, Blender, motion control and machine automation. The practical centre of that work is the connection between a controller and a model: the bridge he built between PLC and Unity.
He builds the machine geometry in Blender. A motion axis on a real machine has limits, speeds and fault states. A model that is going to be useful for commissioning has to answer those same signals, not only look like the machine. The bridge is the mapping that lets the controller drive the model and the model drive the inputs back.
Integration is the rest of that mapping. Upstream and downstream equipment, mode changes and recovery paths all show up as signals. If the map drifts from the PLC project, the simulation stops being a test.
Simulation sits on that connection. Once the controller and the model share a signal map, a sequence can be run again after a software change without waiting for the physical machine.
